As our Bow Valley community works hard to address the impacts of COVID-19, we want to share an update on our response at YWCA Banff and the YWCA Banff Hotel.

The health and wellness of the people who live in and visit our facilities is a priority for our organization, especially during this difficult time. For over 30 years, the YWCA Banff Hotel has provided tourists with an affordable, simple option for hotel and hostel-style accommodation. Revenues from the Hotel support our work to shape a safe and inclusive community; one of the ways we do this is through an extensive housing program.

To support the needs of our community today, effective Monday, March 23, we will re-purpose our hotel rooms into housing spaces. These spaces are meant to support residents impacted by the sudden downturn of the tourism sector due to COVID-19 which has resulted in unemployment and loss of housing. We are grateful that we are able to act quickly to help our community in this way.

We will continue to follow the directions and protocols set out by Alberta Health Services and the Town of Banff in response to COVID-19. We are also working closely on our local response with Banff Lake Louise Tourism and many other local partners.

These are difficult and extraordinary times and we appreciate your support and hope that you will come visit us in the future.
