Interested in running for #TeamYWCA?
Run the Banff Half Marathon or 10K on June 15th, 2025 and raise funds for YWCA Banff. Not only will you achieve an amazing personal goal, but you will also support YWCA Banff’s work to build a safe and inclusive Bow Valley. Funds raised will support essential programs including sexual violence prevention programs, affordable housing, and emergency shelter for individuals experiencing violence or housing insecurity in the community.
It doesn’t matter if you are a seasoned athlete or this is your first time! We are looking to build a team willing to go the extra mile and raise money for essential programs and services that help everyone in the community thrive.

4. Fundraise!
Helpful hints to get you started:
Spread the Word:
The key to successful fundraising is visibility. Share your fundraising page on all your social media platforms—Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and LinkedIn. Craft posts that explain why you are passionate about the cause. Remember, storytelling can powerfully influence donations, so share your personal connection to YWCA Banff and its mission.Email and Messaging:
Draft a compelling email or message to send to family, friends, and colleagues. In your message, be personal and heartfelt about why you are involved. Attach a link to your fundraising page and ask for their support. If possible, customize each message to feel more personal and direct.Updates and Milestones:
Keep your network engaged by regularly updating them on your training progress and fundraising milestones. Celebrate when you reach key milestones, such as 50% or 75% of your goal, and share these achievements on social media and via email. This not only keeps your supporters in the loop but also encourages others to help you reach your full target.Leverage Networks:
Don’t hesitate to reach out to local businesses or community groups that might be interested in your cause. Local businesses, especially those that focus on health and wellness, might be willing to support your efforts by sharing your page or even matching donations.Make it Easy:
When you share your page, always include a direct link to make donating as easy as possible. The fewer clicks needed, the better. Also, explain to potential donors how their contributions will be used, reinforcing the impact their donation will have.
By following these tips and sharing your page widely, you’ll not only raise more funds but also increase awareness about the critical work YWCA Banff does in your community. Every share and donation brings us closer to a safer, more supportive community for everyone.
