Join us for YWCA Banff's Charity Classic on Thursday July 24th, 2025 at Stewart Creek Golf & Country Club.
The event brings together approximately 100 avid golfers from Canmore, Banff, our regional markets and beyond to raise money for our Higher Ground Project.
Proceeds will benefit YWCA Banff’s Higher Ground Project, our plan to expand our services in the Bow Valley by bringing a new, purpose-built facility to Canmore. Higher Ground will leverage the unique expertise of YWCA Banff and other local agencies to provide a range of services that support people in our community, including women and families, to build their own thriving futures, free from violence.
Over the past four years, YWCA Banff’s crisis calls increased by 218%. With the generous support of donors and funders, last fiscal year we provided nearly 3,000 safe nights to clients accessing emergency sheltering programs, and responded to 914 crisis calls. The Higher Ground Project will expand YWCA Banff’s capacity to deliver critical services across the Bow Valley including services for those experiencing domestic and sexual violence or housing insecurity.

Leaving a Legacy
Since 2015, Canmore locals including the late Jamie Perkins and four like-minded friends hosted an annual event to raise funds for YWCA Banff. Following his untimely passing in 2019, Jamie’s teammates carried on his meaningful legacy with Jamie Perkins Memorial Golf Tournament.
Carrying on this legacy, YWCA Banff continues the YWCA Banff Charity Classic golf tournament to raise funds for our Higher Ground Project.
The Need
The need for YWCA Banff’s services has steadily continued to grow. Over the past four years, our crisis calls increased by 218%. Last fiscal year, our staff responded to 914 calls on our 24-hour crisis line. Of these calls, 311 callers identified sexual violence, domestic violence, or both as their primary concern, and 439 callers identified housing insecurity as their primary concern. While many of our shelter and housing programs have remained at capacity over the years, the significant increase in crisis line calls signals an increased need in support from our community. Thanks to donors like you, last year we provided nearly 3,000 safe nights to community members experiencing sexual or domestic violence, housing insecurity, or both through our emergency shelter and transitional housing programs. The Higher Ground project will expand YWCA Banff’s capacity to deliver critical services across the Bow Valley including services for those experiencing domestic and sexual violence or housing insecurity.
