The third annual Jamie Perkins Memorial Golf Tournament teed off on July 25th, carrying on the legacy of 100 Holes of Help! Jamie Perkins was a long-time supporter of the YWCA, participating in 100 Holes of Help since its inception in 2015.

Thanks to the generous support of donors, sponsors and attendees, this year’s event raised $50,000, bringing the 6-year fundraising total for the Bow Valley Higher Ground Project to an exceptional $233,000!

As well as the golf tournament, this year’s event also hosted a successful online auction and 50/50 cash raffle – with the winner, Terry O’Neill, donating his winnings directly to the Bow Valley Higher Ground Project.

The Higher Ground Project is the YWCA’s plan to bring a new, purpose-built facility to Canmore with a range of services that address domestic and sexual violence in the Bow Valley. This includes shelter and transitional housing, counselling, services for children, and violence prevention programs. Higher Ground will leverage the unique expertise of the YWCA, other local agencies, and the broader network of service providers throughout Alberta in order to provide relevant, long-term support for Bow Valley residents experiencing violence and associated vulnerabilities.
