YWCA’s Power of Being A Girl and Power of Being A Girl TEEN conferences have wrapped up for another successful year!
Power of Being A Girl TEEN is a day dedicated specifically to girls in grades 7, 8 and 9. The conference, held in October, gave teens the opportunity to participate in sessions including: what is means to be a young woman, self-exploration through art, communicating consent and an inspiring human library.
Participants from the Power of Being A Girl -TEEN conference were also given the opportunity to return as volunteer mentors at the Power of Being A Girl conferences in October.
YWCA’s Power of Being A Girl is a conference dedicated to motivation and empowerment for girls in grades 4, 5 and 6. This past November, conferences were held in both Banff and in Canmore. Participants had the opportunity to experience workshops that explore leadership and healthy relationships with self and others.
Our thanks goes out to the Canmore Opera House in Spring Creek for donating the use of their beautiful space for the Canmore PBG conference!
