We are thrilled to announce that Michelle Rhode will be joining the YWCA Banff team later this month as the Director of Community Engagement.

Michelle holds a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations from the University of Calgary and a Public Relations certificate from Mount Royal University. Her areas of expertise include community relations, fund development and affordable housing.

Michelle has worked in leadership roles with various non-profit organizations for the past 15 years. Her most recent role was helping to launch the REST Program in 2021, a winter mat program in Canmore.

Michelle and her family moved to Canmore in 2020 and they love to spend time biking, kayaking and hiking in the mountains. She also has a passion for travel – her favourite spot to visit is Costa Rica. Michelle and her husband have an energetic dog named George that they adopted from a rescue foundation. They also have a 3-year-old son.

Michelle has a strong desire to make a positive impact in her community and she is very excited to be joining the team at the YWCA Banff.
